John Sedgwick [Unknown / Hannah Sedgwick] There are no earlier Sedgwick baptisms at Brantingham although a Margaret Sedgwick was witness to the marriage of John Linton and Elizabeth Steele in the parish in 1787. In the 1861 census John gives his birth place as Market Weighton confirming his parentage. There are no more Sedgwick baptisms in the parish. Hannah is probably illegitimate too as the only likely IGI match is for a Hannah daughter of Elizabeth baptised at Hessle by Hull in 1785. Elizabeth could be the daughter of Robert Sedgwick baptised at South Cave in 1761. Anyone have any proof?
