George Sedgwick (born circa 1845)

George Sedgwick [William Sedgwick / Elizabeth Harrison]
b. circa 1842 Leeds, Yorkshire
m Mary Ann Hallissy (Hennessy) 1868 Cork, Ireland
d. 23 March 1916

George was a general labourer in 1891. He was in the Army from 1859 to 1882 - he is believed to have married in Cork. Based on where his children were born in India, it has been established that he was serving with the 62nd Foot which later became the 1st Wiltshire Regiment.

Goerge gave his fathers name as William when he married - this strengthens the argument that William and Elizabeth were his parents.

In 1911 he is living with his daughter Hannah and her husband in New Wortley.
