No absolute proof has been found that both marriages can be attributed to the same man although it sems likely. Five children were baptised on the day that Matthew was buried - quite an unusual occurrence. Matthew was described as a shoemaker when he was buried.

Matthew, Joseph and Daniel all moved to Sheffield.

Daniel Sedgwick in the 70th Foot Regiment from 1844 to 1847.
