Leonard Sedgwick [Thomas Sedgwick / Isabel Peacoke] Leonard was a yeoman of Banklands in Dent. The marriage above is based on a marriage bond between Leonard Sidgswick of Banckland and Alice Jackson of Casterton, parish of Kirby Lonsdale. His will mentions several children and without baptisms several of the childrens year of birth have been estimated. That his daughter Alice does not receive a specific legacy could indicate that she was already married and thus she could be the Alice who married Alexander Thistlethwaite in 1686 (NB unchecked IGI entry). It could also indicate that she was over 22 and thus had already received a settlement. |
