Joseph was also a travelling showman. Diana Sedgwick has recently discovered references to him in the British Film Institute as follows;

Biography Fairground Showman, Commissioned work from James Kenyon and Sagar Mitchell from 1900.See G5. Brother of William Sedgwick Travelling Showman, and member of Fairground family,associated with Sagar Mitchell and James Kenyon. May have started working together through James Kenyon's penny-in-the-slot machine business. Sedgwick's cinematograph and menagerie travelled the Lancashire wakes in 1900 alongside Captain Thomas Payne. The Sedgwick family had two large cinematograph and ghost show, one containing a menagerie and one soley for living pictures. Information provided by National fairground Archive, University of Sheffield .

Has anyone found James, Nellie or Amy in the 1901 census? In 1911 most of the family are together although Frank and Ellen are both in Insitutions of some sort - has anyone viewed the image to get the details?
