UK Sedgwicks - Places - Lancashire
Sedgwicks of Manchester

A number of different families moved to the area - one couples origins have been uncovered.

In 1818 Sedgwick Mill was built - I have found brief references which would indicate that the property got its name from its previous owner, Colonel Sedgwick. A Lieutenant Colonel John Sedgwick of the 3rd Regiment of the Lancashire Militia had a will proven in Chester in 1818 - it seems likely that this was the same man.
