John Sedgwick (born 1829)

John Sedgwick [George Sedgwick / Ann Dennison]
bpt. 29 November 1829 Cockermouth, Cumberland
m Nancy Atkinson 1853 (BMD)
d after 1901

In 1851 and 1861 John is described as an ostler although Nancy describes herself as a coachman's wife in 1861 (John lived away from home). In 1871 John is in Clifton, Gloucestershire working as a domestic coachman - Nancy and the children are in Keswick. By 1881 the family is in Bingley, Yorkshire - John a gentlemans coachman!

Times must have changed because John is a wool washer in 1891. In 1891 Margaret, a school teacher, is boarding in Newchurch, Lancashire. In 1901 John is living in Colne, Lancashire described again as a domestic coachman.
