Allen Sedgwick [Sarah Sedgwick] I haven't found Allen in the 1871 census but in 1881 he is living in Ulverston with his wife and eldest child and is described as an agricultural labourer. By 1891 Allen is described as a grocer warehouseman and is still in Ulverston. By 1901 the family have disappeared from the UK census. It appears that the family emigrated to Canada in 1898. They can be found in the 1901 and 1911 Canadian census returns ( see Ancestry). In both returns Allen was a labourer. Sarah was a biscuit packer and then a sales lady, John a labourer and then a moulder and Allen junior a labourer in 1911. |
