UK Sedgwicks - Places - Durham
Sidgwicks of Denton

The baptismal records transcribed onto the IGI span the years from 1587 to 1812. The first Sidgwick entry is in 1673 so their origins are not in the parish. The marriage extract shows the first Sidgwick in 1696.

The construction shown on the site is open to correction and needs secondary proof. I assume that the first Sidgwicks in the parish were brothers. Could they originate from Staindrop? There is a John Sidgwick son of Ralph who could fit in here.

There are very few baptisms after the 1730's which could reflect Catholic roots or that the family moved parish.
