UK Sedgwicks - Library - Guilds and Apprentices
Brewers Company

This Guild has a strong link with William and Stephen Sedgwick and their allied families. Of the Sedgwick records transcribed, all but the first are known to relate to this family. Of more interest is the missing records for the apprenticeship of the two Stephens, William and Joshua.

Ralph Sigeswicke, son of James of Dent, yeoman (deceased): apprenticed to John Willand, 21 January 1616/17

John Sedgweeke: apprenticed to his father William, 23 August 1631

John Hodgson apprenticed to Stephen Sedgweeke, 20 March 1633/4

Zacheus Sedgewicke, son of Stephen, Richmond, Surrey, gentleman: apprenticed to Thomas Breeden, 11 February 1661/62

Edmund Cooper apprenticed to Joshua Sedgewicke, 22 September 1657
