UK Sedgwicks - Library - Census - 1881 Census

:The complete 1881 census for England, Wales and Scotland is available at Ancestry and LDS without charge. If you are looking for someone and you have little information available, I recommend the latter site as you can search with more criteria. However the Ancestry site also has the images so you can check the transcriptions for yourself.

The new Lostcousins site aims to connect researchers by using the 1880 and 1881 census returns. Register for free and then add all the relations that you can find in the UK, US or Canadian census and indicate whether they are an ancestor, blood relation or related by marriage. The site will search for matches with other researchers.

I have started to add individuals to the Lost Cousins site - an analysis by family group is part way through too;

1881 Census, England, Wales and Scotland: 3104 names extracted and posted to Lost Cousins - an additional 102 names believed to be non-Sedgwick variants.

The biggest groups so far are;

West Witton
The extended Adam Sedgwick family
Armitage
Leeds
Lichfield

Details of some of those individuals not linked to any group yet can be found here
